A coffee is offered to you if you bring your own cup

On Friday, September 19, 2025, head to one of the 329 participating coffee shops across France to enjoy a free coffee… provided you bring your own cup! 

This initiative, called “Bring Your Mug Day”, aims to raise awareness about the impact of disposable cups — nearly 16 billion are used worldwide each year. By encouraging reuse, the campaign seeks to show that small collective actions can have a big impact.

In Paris, 58 cafés are taking part, with many more venues joining in across French cities. The event is part of the momentum created by France’s Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Law (AGEC), which already encourages businesses to accept and reward customers who bring their own containers.
